What We're Learning:
Reading
We are excited to get to look at a variety of books this week as we approach our beginning look at authors purpose! We will remember this with a handy acronym:
P: persuade
I: inform
E: entertain
Writing/Grammar
We will be looking at how to use reflexive pronouns properly within our writing this week. We will begin a new study in our writing with a look at opinion writing. We will connect this to our reading with some closer look at some persuasive writings. We will also have a handy acronym to help us here with OREO:

Math 2.1
We are ready to review, review, review!
We will complete a study guide at school, however, many parents asked for a second blank copy to come home. This is optional for your learner to do as we are doing a duplicate at school. It is a great gauge to see where your learner is in their preparation for this test.
We will be reviewing:
-Addition and Subtraction up to 1,000
-Balancing Equations
-Adding 4 2-digit numbers
-Picture Graphs
-Money based word problems
Test this Friday
Math 2.2
We will continue to focus on strengthening our understanding of multiplication properties such as the distributive property and associative properties to help us with some of our trickier facts (looking at you 6, 7, and 8s!) We will also look at multiplying by 10s.
Math 3.1
We are also reviewing for our test this week with a deeper look at our polygons, more specifically on the quadrilateral differences. We will also increase our vocabulary with a look at vertices, angles, and 3d shape attributes.
We will review:
-fractions
-fractions on a number line
-fractions in measurement
-quadrilaterals
-area and perimeter
Science/SS
ASTRONOMY!
We are so excited to get back to our exploration with a look at stars and the sun this week. There is so much out there that is yet to be discovered, and so much wonder to be had. We are already so excited to learn about the beauty of space!
