-Please check out our PTO Art Night this Thursday from 5-6:30 PM
There will be a wonderful collection of student art to view and celebrate! The steel drum band will also be performing!
-Please continue reading, reading, reading as much as possible at home! Read out loud, in the car, to your stuffed animals, to your dog, on an iPad!
-Please also continue to practice your math facts. Students need to have these memorized before leaving 2nd grade.
If you work on these at all over spring break, please write a note to your child's teacher for a special treat and celebration! :)
What We're Learning:
Reading
This week we will take a look at how characters change throughout our reading. What experiences cause them to change? Do you like the change that they've experienced? Sometimes our characters change multiple times throughout our book. Hold some of these discussions with your learners through the books you're reading together or after they finish their independent reading.

Writing/Grammar
We will conclude our opinion writing unit by polling our classmates on various topics. We will then read our persuasive arguments and poll to see who we were able to persuade!
In grammar we will wrap up our learning with possessive nouns. This is an ongoing study as we work to determine whether or not a possessive is actually needed or not.
Math 2.1
We will be reviewing and testing our unit on measurement and time this week.
Math 2.2
We will be reviewing and testing our unit on place value and rounding with up to four digit numbers.
Math 3.1
We will be reviewing and assessing our unit on equivalent fractions this week.
Science/SS
We will be taking a brief look at the basic differences in our government by learning about the roles of our president, governor, and mayor.
