Things to Do:
-We are so excited to FINALLY head on our field trip this Thursday!! Please make sure your learner wears their tie-dye spirit shirt and closed toe shoes. Please also make sure that they have a filling snack prepared to eat before the trip. We will return later than our usual lunch, so they are often "starvinggggg" on the way home :)
-We are loving our biodiversity studies and are on the hunt for some supplies. Please look for an email from your child's teacher detailing some of the fun we have in store!
What We're Learning:
Reading
This week we are reviewing many of our comprehension strategies as we work to remember not only the specifics of what we've read, but also more about they why behind them. We are working to think beyond the text.We want to RISE our understanding and comprehensions through multi-level texts across several chapters and several days.

Writing/Grammar
Did you know April is Poetry Month? We are so excited to become poets this month in preparation for our poetry cafe coming soon! Invitations will be sent shortly, so keep your eyes open for more information!
Math 2.1
We are deepening our understanding of basic fractions this week with a look at partitioning shapes into even rows and columns. This will lead is into arrays which will be a precursor to multiplication!
Math 2.2
We are reviewing for our final unit test! Please review the study guide and continue to practice those multiplication and division facts. These should be fluid and interchangeable understanding the relationship between each.
Math 3.1
We are continuing to explore mass and capacity this week by taking a look at grams and kilograms. We will do some estimating and some application based problems before beginning our study guide for our final math review!
Science/SS
Biodiversity has taken over our classrooms and we couldn't be any more thrilled! Kiddos are loving on their mealworms and some are even noticing some changes happening! Hearing them shout about shedding exoskeletons and changing into the next life stage through metamorphosis are just some of the incredible moments happening. We are exploring other animal classes this week to help us determine different key features of each.
