What We're Learning:
Reading:

As readers this week were continuing our journey into non- fiction texts. This week our readers will practice approaching non-fiction text expecting to learn something new. Students will compare prior knowledge with new information as they join book clubs based on similar subject books. We will enjoy learning from each other's texts as we practice our buddy reading and recording what new knowledge we gain!
ELA:
We will spend this week reviewing various parts of speech and revising and editing our writing. There will be no mentor sentence or phonics skill this week as we work to review all we have learned.
Math 2.1:

We will continue our journey into addition strategies. This week we will review counting on and work on the making ten strategy. We know how important 10 is in our number system, so making ten can be a very important skill to understand!
Math 2.2:
This week we will be continue to work on our fluency o subtraction and addition problems working fluidly between the two. We will learn about inverse operations and connect it back to fact families to show how addition and subtraction are related. We will use inverse operation to check over our work and to correct mistakes in others.

Math 3.1:
This week we will work on expanding our foundation for multiplication looking at a variety of repeated addition. We will transfer these sentences into equal groups to demonstrate multiplication and show how they are related with the commutative property. We are working to make connections between problems such as 9 X 5 can also be written as 5 x 9 to either add 9+9+9+9+9 or 5+5+5+5+5+5+5+5+5. We will look for ways to shorten this as well by looking at the distributive property. Multiplication can be so much fun!
Health:
This week we will focus on the area of health. We will work on healthy living habits and practice some exercises including yoga to help us focus our minds and our bodies for a healthy life!
