How can the point of view change based on who tells story?Comprehension Skill: Summarize

Comprehension Strategy: Summarize what is the most essential

ELA:

Mentor Sentence: This week, we will be working on singular and plural nouns. We will be reading the popular book Stellaluna.

Phonics: This week, we will be working on plural nouns and how to form plural nouns. Students will learn that you usually add an S to the end of the word to make it plural. They will also learn that there are special rules to help you remember if you add -s or -es to the end of the nouns to make it plural.

Math:

2.1

We will being our journey into subtraction this week! We know that addition and subtraction are related, so we will look at how we can apply those same strategies we've learned in addition to help us solve subtraction!

Just like in addition, we will expose our learners to all of these different strategies in hopes they find one that makes sense for their learning style. We will continue to develop our thinking of these numbers and what regrouping means before trying the often abstract traditional method. That is the goal as it is often most efficient for us, however, we want to focus on building strong, number sense in our young mathematicians!

Math:

2.2

We are learning all about polygons this week as we work on exploring geometry. We will look at plane shapes and identify sides, vertices, and angles. We will also be learning about 3D shapes. We will expand our vocabulary by discussing deeper geometric concepts!

Math 3.1

We will be reviewing multiplication and division with word problems as we apply the properties of multiplication. We will begin review for our unit test next week.

Science

We will continue working on studying the properties of matter. We will be doing some fun and exciting experiments this week at school.
