What We're Learning

Reading:

Week Theme: Our opinions of characters can change depending on who is telling the story.

Literacy Skills Focus Standards:

RL 2.3-Describe how characters in a story respond to major events and challenges

RL2.6- Acknowledge differences in the points of view of characters, including by speaking in a different voice for each character when reading dialogue aloud.

Essential Question:

How can characters from two versions of the same be so different?

How can who is telling the story completely change the story?

Comprehension Skill: Support ideas with evidence

Comprehension Strategy: Back up ideas about characters with evidence

ELA:

Mentor Sentence: This week, we will conintue working on reviewing plural nouns and how to form them.

Phonics: This week, we will be working on ee/ea

spelling patterns.

Math:

2.1

We will work on subtraction word problems this week.

2.2

We will continue studying shapes. We will learn how to partition shapes into fractions.

3.1

We will work on two step word problems as we review for the test.

Social Studies

We will continue learning about the Creek and Cherokee Indians. Students will learn about things that we had in common with these Indian tribes, as well as their differences.
