Each week we read a mentor text. This is a story with examples of quality writing, good sentence structure, descriptive details, and more. Students will work to identify these features of our mentor sentences along with the parts of speech of each sentence. Science/SS
This week we are finally ready to tackle to classroom economy! We will take an introductory approach this week as we look specifically at the classroom needs. We will look at jobs our classroom needs to be successful and learn about the application process. Students will be expected to apply for their class jobs as well as potentially interview for their role! We take it very seriously here in second grade!
Questions to ask:
What jobs does our classroom specifically need in order to be successful? Why do I have to have a job? What kind of chaos would we face if we didn't have jobs? What are some needs I have in my life vs the wants?
