What we are learning:
Reading:

As readers this week we are looking at what we can learn from our strong characters. Our theme this week will be "Appreciate what you have." As good readers, we will think about the moral and central message of our stories. Good readers describe how characters overcome challenges.

Mentor Sentences: We will study plural nouns. We will deepen our understanding using our mentor text Chrysanthemum
Math 2.1

We are getting closer to our first unit test. This week we will begin reviewing by looking at mixed addition and subtraction word problems adding and subtracting units of tens. We will continue to use CUBES to help identify the words to help us determine which to use! We will also look back at bar graphs and picture graphs with a deeper look at analyzing the data within. We will also connect our studies in science by reading and analyzing table charts.
Math 2.2:

We are continuing to strengthen our skills in adding fluently with numbers through 1,000. We will be looking at a variety of strategies including number bonds (or part/part/wholes), base ten blocks, totals below, and the traditional algorithm. Which method works best for you? We will be checking our answers using the inverse operation.
Math 3.1:
We are working on rounding our numbers in the tens and hundreds. We will use this to help estimate our answers as we continue to practice our addition and subtraction.
Science
This week we will explore what it means to be a scientist.
Science:
