What We're Learning:

Reading:
Week Theme: Understanding the structure of a text can help us recount the story and determine the moral.
Literacy Skills Focus Standards:
RL 2.2-Recount stories, including fables and folktales from diverse cultures, and determine their central message, lesson, or moral.
RL2.5- Describe the overall structure of a story, including describing how the beginning introduces the story and the ending concludes the action.
Essential Questions:
How do good readers determine the "moral of the story" when reading fairy tales?
How can the structure of the story help readers retell the story?
Comprehension Skill: Determine importance, Retell
Comprehension Strategy: "Uh...Oh....Phew"
ELA:

Mentor Sentence: This week, we will work on adjectives. We will be reading the book 'Twas the Night Before Thanksgiving to help us learn about adjectives.
Phonics: This week, we will be working on the ee and ea pattern.
Math:

We will be working with money. We will start off with coin identification and then start adding coins together.
We will start our unit 2 test this week. The following skills will be on the test:
*Word problems with addition and subtraction
*Addition Facts
*Addition and subtraction with regrouping
*Money
*Graphing

We will be working if a number is odd or even, and how do we know.
We will also be working on word problems.
3.1
We will be working on exploring area and perimeter.
Social Studies
We will be learning about the Creek and Cherokee Indians. Students will learn about their food clothing, homes and famous Creeks/Cherokees.
