English/ Language Arts

Math 2.1
In math, we will begin our topic of time. Second graders are expected to tell time to the nearest five minutes (This should be part of your daily routine for the remainder of the year through Math Maintenance. Understand the relationship of hours and days
Math 2.2
Rounding Rounding rounding! This week we are all about rounding numbers to the nearest tenth and hundredth. Students will also investigate, understand, and use place value to manipulate numbers. Students will build on understanding of place value to round whole numbers.
Math 3.1
Solve two-step word problems using the four operations. Represent these problems using equations with a letter standing for the unknown quantity. Assess the reasonableness of answers using mental computation and estimation strategies including rounding.
Science
This week we will blast off to the moon! we will learn about how the moon goes through phases each month. We will be describing, illustration and predicting how the appearance of the moon changes over time in a pattern.
